Vehicles in Germany's Town Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Police stated they were contacted by a resident who discovered a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored substance

Around fifty cars have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.

Police say they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.

The liquid had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then discovered multiple other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials report early analysis suggest the substance was likely human blood.

"At present there remains no indication as to its source; officials are presently not aware of any harm in association with the occurrence," they stated.

Municipal representatives said they were trying "to solve the incident" and have asked to the community for information.

A high-ranking representative said the vandalism rendered him stunned and had to be addressed rapidly.

"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack half a decade ago," he posted on a platform, recalling the death of nine individuals by a shooter aiming at people of foreign heritage in five years prior.
