19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts
A comeback the Russian player won his first title for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult period, winning just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in specific - caused him exiting of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-time coach his previous coach.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set victory over challenger Moutet.
This represents the player's maiden title after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since spring of 2023.
Victory also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 distinct events.
"It's the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, comprising in Halle in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and regular outbursts on the playing surface had caused observers to doubt if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and compete assertively, backed up by an enhanced service.
He fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, winning four of the final five games to go ahead.
Both players swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial ATP Tour title, gained dominance to create a final set.
Moutet defended four initial opportunities in a tight deciding set before the Russian broke to that score to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner earned the win with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to control a volley after a lengthy match.
